FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – David Archuleta, American Idol's season seven runner-up, is scheduled to perform at Jefferson Pointe during the Majical Day of Giving, Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
"David was looking for a great charity tie-in so we offered him this event and he readily accepted. The holidays are all about giving back and the Majical Day of Giving does just that," said Barb Richards, program director of Majic 95.1, WAJI, the radio station sponsoring the event.
This isn't Archuleta's first time in Fort Wayne. The American Idol tour brought the crew to Fort Wayne after season seven. "I love the small, hometown vibe. I love places that are very supportive of their local shops and stores and restaurants," said Archuleta.
Fans can also purchase David's new CD, "The Other Side of Down" from Barnes and Noble on Saturday and receive a wrist band that will allow them to meet David after the show. A limit of 500 wrist bands will be given out.
So, what can you expect at the big show on Saturday?
"There's an original song that I had on my Christmas album that I actually helped write and it is called `Melodies of Christmas.' It's about memories of Christmas and it brings back those memories you have of Christmas with family and opening Christmas presents from under the tree," said Archuleta.
